Blessed Sunday!
Due to chronic migraines and TN, I was not able to worship at my home church, Appleton Alliance. Some people tell me, ‘I don’t need to attend an organized church to worship God. I worship Him in my backyard or walking through the woods, fishing, sailing, hunting, etc.’
True, God welcomes us into His holy presence wherever we are. I’ve had plenty of chit-chats and praise time with God on my back porch in my PJs. But worshiping Him with other believers, joy-filled singing and raising our hearts and hands, hearing His Gospel message of love shared in its truth and purity, feeling the Holy Spirit work within a multitude of believers is a powerful personal encounter with God! It’s a reminder and reassurance, that I need my Savior every day and not just on Sundays.
I long for my fellowship time with other Christ followers to be lifted up when I’ve fallen, and for me to do kindnesses to those needing encouragement, a helping hand or just listen and not judge. That weekly 70 minutes of fellowship and worship helps me to extend God’s grace and mercy to others who have yet to hear or believe upon the name of the one true living God, Jesus Christ! He is my all and all . . .
Matthew 18:20 New Living Translation (NLT)
20 For where two or three gather together as my followers,[a] I am there among them.”
